Dopamine metabolism & DOPAL Mitochondrial dysfunction
-
Early dopaminergic disturbance in mice suppressed corticostriatal gene modules linked to mitochondrial ATP synthesis and the TCA cycle, while activating a module tied to oxidative phosphorylation and ROS response.
The black module was associated with mitochondrial ATP synthesis coupled with electron transport and cellular respiration. The brown module was associated with the tricarboxylic acid cycle and mitochondrial electron transport. Both were negatively correlated with 6-OHDA treatment, while the midnightblue module — positively correlated — was associated with oxidative phosphorylation and response to reactive oxygen species.
